Thank you for your interest in becoming a foster home for The Maggie Society.  When you foster a dog, all veterinary care is provided and other supplies may be provided, including food, crates, blankets, toys, etc... Please request items that you need.

Foster homes can provide much-needed care for the very young, sick, or injured, socialization for the shy, and basic training for dogs that need it.  You provide a safe, secure and loving home for the dog until its permanent family comes along.  We ask that the foster home help meet the needs of training, taking to necessary veterinary visits, adoption events, and meetings with potential adopters. Perhaps most importantly, foster homes can provide invaluable information about a foster dog's temperament and training, making it easier to match the dog with an appropriate adoptive home.

    About You and Your Household

PLEASE NOTE: The Maggie Society is located in Wilson, NC.  Fosters will be asked to be available to come to Wilson a few times throughout the month for adoption events, vet night, and meet-and-greets with your foster dog.  If you are outside of the area or unable to bring your foster dog to Wilson, NC, we would encourage you to apply to foster with an organization closer to your place of residence.
We do not have a "foster to adopt" program.  Some foster pups/dog may already be committed to an adopter and waiting for an adoption date.  We encourage our foster families to tell friends and family about foster pups as that often leads to an adoption. Each adoption application, however, will be processed in accordance with organization bylaws.
