Why hello there my followers!  I wanted to give you an update on how I have been doing.  It's amazing to me that I've been in rescue for just over two months and here I am healthy and looking for a forever home!  My foster mom wanted me to share some updated pictures of me... This one is my FAVORITE!!

That's my foster mama there! She does super important work for animal rights, but while she was on the phone I wanted to remind her that I still love her!!  I like giving hugs... They are my favorite!!  Oh, it SNOWED in NC!!  Oh it was so pretty!!!  I loved running in it with my fur foster brothers.  The couch cuddles to warm up afterwards were the best!  Here's a cool picture of me in the snow running!

So, I wanted to tell you a story about something that happened last night.  You remember how everybody jumped into action to save me when they found me with that stupid cone on my head?  I had terrible mange and looked pretty gross?  Yeah, well, those same awesome people that didn't walk away from me have gone and done it again!  The folks with The Maggie Society are good people.

They got a phone call that a house was being demolished in Wilson, NC and there was a litter of puppies and their mom underneath the house.  Can you believe it?!?  Seriously, who thinks about bulldozing a house knowing puppies are under it?!?!?  I don't know either... I was amazed when I found out.  Anyways... this super awesome guy literally stood IN FRONT OF the bulldozer to stop them from continuing demolition. They had already destroyed the front part of the house.  Here's a picture that a human friend took for me so I could share it.

Can you believe it?  That much damage and they knew puppies were inside?!?  Craziness!  Anyways, lots of volunteers showed up and then some important people from the town came to help them stop demolition and The Maggie Society was told they had until morning to save whatever they could.  They were able to rescue three puppies!  The fire department even showed up to use their fancy tools and scanned for heat sources.  Unfortunately they were not able to locate any additional heat sources, so we fear that the other puppies were under the front part of the house.  The mama dog was not found last night as she got spooked with all of the noises.  Neighbors are helping out and will continue to look for the mama and will let us know when they find her.  Here are the puppies when found!  And check out the wonderful fire department that got to snuggle some puppies!

These cuties are now in a foster home and are getting lots of hugs, cuddles, staying warm, and are eating like champs!  They snuggle close together and are learning that humans can be trusted.  Their first night inside was amazing.  Here's what I am asking you - we need your help to get these three puppies fully vetted, vaccinated, and spayed/neutered.  Each and every one of you stepped up and supported me when I needed help getting healthy.  I think this is my way to pay it forward to the next pup in need.  So I am changing the name of my blog to "Anna Christi and Friends" because The Maggie Society is constantly taking in new pups that have AMAZING stories of rescue.  I invite you to follow the journey of these three little ones!

Foster!  Puppies and dogs can only come into the program if there is an available foster.  We supply all of your needs, you supply the love!

Adopt!  We are always looking for amazing forever homes for our dogs and puppies.

Donate! Supplies are always needed - check out the "Donate" page to find our Amazon Wishlist, list of top needs, and a link to donate funds.  Any donated money will go towards vetting the dogs and puppies that are in the care of The Maggie Society.

Until next time, all my hugs and tail wags! --Anna Christi and Friends
