    • We are located in Wilson County, North Carolina
    • We are a foster-based DOG rescue.  We do NOT take in cats, kittens, wildlife or other animals.
    • We can only accept legally cleared dogs that have been temperament tested with other dogs and people.  We must have an open foster home available before we can add a surrendered dog to our program.
    • We have an adoption process in place for all of our dogs and puppies.  If you are an "APPROVED ADOPTER", please reach out if you have seen or met a dog or puppy that you are interested in adopting. (Approved applications are good for ONE year from approval date)
    • If you have NOT previously applied and are interested in adopting a dog or puppy, please complete an application. Applications can be found at https://www.themaggiesociety.com/adopt.html
    • Adult volunteers are often needed, however volunteer opportunities for people under age 18 are limited to children whose families are a part of our foster teams.  If interested in fostering a dog or puppy, please visit https://www.themaggiesociety.com/foster.html for more information.

Other questions or comments?  We'd love to hear from you!

If this is about surrendering a dog or reporting a stray, please DO NOT USE this form.

Laurie Brumfield - 252-292-6305 -Laurie is the Director and Founder of The Maggie Society.  She oversees new dog intakes, including shelter pulls and owner surrenders.  She coordinates vet care with Dr. Borst, the SNAP van,  and other local veterinarians as needed, and collaborates with our northern rescue partner to facilitate transports.

Barbara Batts - Barbara is our Adoption Coordinator.  Once an applicant is processed, Barbara will send an email with further information and confirm the next steps.  She also verifies the adopted pup has received the appropriate vetting at his/her post adoption vet visit, and processes the microchip information records.

Amy Hodge - Amy is our Fundraising Coordinator which includes small events throughout the year and our biggest annual event Maggiepalooza. Fundraising is a key revenue for vetting new dogs and puppies.  Without cash flow, we can't say yes to the many dogs and puppies in need of our assistance.

Jill Tarleton-Jill is our Events and Merchandise Coordinator.  Looking for volunteer opportunities or interested in hosting our pups for a public event?   Jill is our "go to" for everything event related, from scheduling to arranging dog handlers when fosters are unable to attend public events.  Everyone knows that puppies can draw a crowd and when our schedule permits, we enjoy taking our adoptable puppies and dogs out to meet new friends.

Debbi Long- Debbi is our Foster Coordinator who works to fit foster pups with the right families, coordinates vacation, weekend, and short term fosters so that all of our pups can experience life in a loving home until their furever family comes along.
